A new car!

Yesterday I drove my brand new (to me) car off the lot. It was a sad moment for me, I won't lie. I had my Cadillac SRX for 9 months and I loved it, my daughter did as well of course, because it had T.Vs in it. I could no longer afford the gas in it, since I moved in with my b.f. Getting only 17mpg city, if I was lucky, ended up costing me about $135 a week, yes A WEEK! But alas all good things must come to an end. Goodbye Caddy!

My new car, a 08 Honda Civic, gets close to double the gas mileage my Cadillac did! Granted it doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" the Cadillac did, but hey, I can get portable dvd players and nav systems, not a big deal. I also like that it doesn't have leather seats, which was one of my main points when looking for the new car. I also love that it is a certified Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle! My Carbon Footprint driving the Cadillac was 11 and now driving the Honda it is a 6.5! Find yours HERE

All in all, I am happy with my new purchase!

Time to make a change.

Hello! I am 25 years old and I work in retail. I am also a self taught Indie designer, that has taken much time off from the sewing/crafting world. I am glad that I did because it gave me a lot of time to rethink where I wanted to take my small business, the type of items I want to produce and the life style I want to live. Because all of this recently came to fruition, it will still be a while before I open shop, but I know I'm headed in the right direction. So lets start here about the direction I am taking. :)
About 2 years ago, I went vegetarian. It only last 9 months. Between a failing relationship, which completely drains you, a stress filled job and an, at the time, ignorant assistant manager, I began losing a lot of weight. Which is bad for me considering I weigh only 100lbs to begin with and barley ever fluctuate. When I dropped down to the low 90's, I gave back into the diet I was raised on. This did not happen because of being vegetarian, but because I wasn't do it properly. I decided to fall back in to the world of fast and fatty food. At first it was just to try and gain some weight back, then it fell into ease. NO MORE!
As my life has changed for the better, I've decided it is also time to change myself for the better. I am now in a wonderful and loving relationship for the first time, with someone who does not judge me or my ideas. Does not make fun of me for changes I want to make in my life or where I want to take it. He's completely supportive, which is a huge help! My job is still stressful, but manageable, that's the price you pay for a paycheck. But I am still tired!
I am tired of eating junk! I am tired of feeling like the junk I eat and how tired and unmotivated it makes me feel! Last time I did this, I woke up one day and decided no more meat. Bad choice (for me). I went through with drawls, bad ones, for weeks. I had headaches, stomach cramps, nausea etc.. Was it mental? Maybe. Was it my body ridding of and craving all the overly processed and chemical treated foods I was used to? Probably. This time I will work myself there, gradually excluding foods and products for my diet, starting with meats and working through all animal by-products until I am a comfortable and happy vegan.
Unfortunately it's not only about what you intake, it's also about what you put on your body. So many consumer products are full of animal by-products and harsh chemicals. Luckily, when I did this before, I did extensive research on bath, body and beauty products and I know which ones to buy and how to make my own, which I will be offering for sale again soon.
So that is my intro :P So follow me as I go on a journey to better living. Maybe it'll inspire you to change your life for the better as well. :) I will share with you small daily changes that lead to my ultimate goal, recipes, my handmade products, others handmade products, reviews and everything you need to start your own journey!
